Toyota’s recent announcement that it is moving thousands of jobs from Torrance, California, to Plano, Texas, sums up the failed policies and political coalitions of California’s liberals led by Governor Jerry Brown. To survive, California must change direction, and the best way to do that is to start at the top.
That’s why it’s so urgent that Californians select wisely when they fill out their vote-by-mail ballots or head to the polls on June 3. It is high time voters replace career politician Jerry Brown with Neel Kashkari, a man of vision for California’s future.
When politicians in Sacramento greedily raid the pockets of taxpayers, the very people they claim to be helping are the ones who suffer the most. The middle class has fallen victim to the never-ending cycle of tax-and-spend policies by the Democratic establishment. Millions of hard-working families are struggling to make ends meet, yet the big-government policies our representatives in the State Capitol promote don’t do anything to fix the fundamental problems facing our State.
Neel is on the side of California’s hard-working families with his call for cutting taxes and job-killing regulations, and reducing electricity and gasoline prices that are budget-busters for many in the Golden State, and which are driving their jobs to Texas and Tennessee.
Neel has laid out a real plan to bring relief to the middle class. It is not just rhetoric and feel-good buzzwords; they’re real solutions. Neel will cancel Governor Brown’s high-speed rail, a $68 billion legacy project that only seeks to benefit the special interest coffers that fuel the Democratic machine. In its place, he supports building more water storage now so we avoid another drought crisis and restoring our crumbling roads and infrastructure. He will bring businesses back to California by incentivizing job creation through tax relief measures that will revive the private sector and put people back to work.
Neel understands that taxes are entirely too high in California, and he knows how tax increases are detrimental to the economy. In fact, Neel has boldly called on Governor Brown to repeal the sales tax increase portion of Proposition 30, highlighting again how he will fight for the middle class and has their best interest at heart.
This year, Californians have a stark choice: accept four more years of Jerry Brown’s failed policies or choose a new path that will restore the strength of our state’s private sector. To me, the choice is clear: California needs new leadership, and Neel Kashkari is the man who can provide it.
