U.S. Supreme Court stays Prop. 8 trial broadcasts

The U. S. Supreme Court today stopped any broadcasting of the zoo of a trial in Federal court in San Francisco on the constitutionality of Proposition 8’s ban on gay marriage. Opponents to the initiative wanted the trial broadcast wherever it could be, namely on YouTube. Supporters of the ballot initiative enacted by the People of California by majority vote, argued that a broadcast of the trial could open the door to intimidation of witnesses, and proffered evidence of harassment of supporters of Prop. 8, including boycotts, threatening calls and anonymous mailing of "powdery substances" to supporters. The liberal trial judge supported, a la Judge Ito, broadcasting of the trial, but Prop. 8’s keen legal team took the matter all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court and today won a 5-4 victory against the anti-Prop. 8 harassment teams. The ruling will reduce the rings of this circus of a trial from three to just one. It is fairly clear now that the appellate courts will have the final word on Prop. 8.

If Andy Pugno and friends are aware of direct attempts to chill any of their witnesses then they should report it to the authorities instead of hiding behind the gowns of the Supreme Court.

And the proponents do not have clean hands either, they have harassed the opponents as well, as trying to intimidate the opponents such as trying to blackmail people in late October 2008.

Just because the people say its a just law does not mean it is a proper law.

So should of we kept Proposition 14 in 1964 then?

I am hoping for the quest for equal protection to come true to the states of the 9th circuit at least.

I am waiting to see how many Clowns come out of that little
Car now parked in the One remaining circus Ring!

Las Vegas has the over-and-under line at 37 Clowns.
