There are numerous news articles about University of California President Janet Napolitano apologizing to legislators this week over a state audit which found $175 million squirreled away in a secret account, while the UC universities were increasing tuition costs on students.

The problem is, her apology is hollow, meaningless, worthless, or any number of synonyms for her senseless drivel. She knows nothing will happen to her.

Across America media outlets are promoting various planned marches, rallies and “protests” for President-elect Donald J. Trump’s inauguration January 20. Project Veritas this week exposed numerous radical groups organizing attacks, planning to incite violence, create transportation shut downs, and commit acts of domestic terrorism during the Deploraball January 19, as well as the Presidential Inauguration January 20.

The Washington Times reported Tuesday that ads offering activists up to $2,500 per month to protest the inaugural of President-elect Donald Trump were running in more than two dozen cities, posted by a company called Demand Protest, run onBackpage.com. Fox News’ Tucker Carlson exposed this group as fake on his show this week. But there are other groups advertising on Craig’s List offering protest jobs.

More likely these faux protestors will be paid $15 per hour, and receive transportation, food and hotel costs.

Every day on the news there are stories of well-organized protests. I report from the California State Capitol which almost daily is ground zero for some group protesting a grievance. Asapoliticaljournalist,Iam skeptical of most protests. It does not matter if the protestors arewearinghardhatsandorangevestsand standalldayinfrontofanofficebuildingunder construction,oraprominentrestaurant feigning outrage showcasing a giant inflatable rat to passersby.

The recipe is always the same whether it’s a faculty walkout, a nurses walkout, minimum wage protests, Wall Street protesters, union members, or recently, students protesting University of California, Davis Chancellor Linda Katehi.

While every citizen is entitled to his or her own voice for a cause, the professional paid protesters who appear at protests all across the state and even across national borders are mercenaries.

Those on the left who wail incessantly about “income inequality” need look no further than California academia. While the left focuses like a laser beam on private sector CEO salaries, the salaries in government and state run academia are soaring.

There’s no risk being a public official; the real risk belongs to CEO’s who can be tossed out of their jobs on the whim of boards of directors. Private sector employees are subject to performance reviews and standards — it’s called merit. When was the last time anyone in government was terminated for poor performance? A startling announcement early Friday morning caught many Californians off guard: Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano is resigning and moving to California to head the University of California system.

This is a real eyebrow-raiser, and just more proof that everything in California is political, including our college system.
