The Governor speaks, softly.

This afternoon, Governor Schwarzenegger spent about 15 minutes taking Q & A on the state budget stalemate.

That said, what was the upshot? The Governor wants a budget now. How does he propose we get there? Well, he didn’t quite say.

But if you want to listen to him not say much yourself, you can listen to the press event here.

I am sure that the same economic conservative leaders who stood with you in your election would be happy to appear at another press conference with you, demanding that Democrats tighten the state’s belt just a litte bit more.… Read More

Sen. Aanestad: They’re Not Listening, But I Am

This just in from Republican State Senator Sam Aanestad, on the current budget situation…

They’re Not Listening, But I Am by Senator Sam Aanestad I find it confusing that the Majority Party is suddenly angered over Senate Republican demands for a truly balanced budget. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. We have been repeating the same line as a unified caucus since we passed the previous budget.Read More

Pick an office already! See latest filing hereRead More

U.S. Rep. John Campbell’s battle to try and stop the “Monument to Me”

Sometimes watching the goings-on in Congress truly makes you think of that colloquial expression, "rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic."

That is certainly the case when we look at the whole issue surrounding the egregious earmark of Charles Rangel, the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee (pictured left). The earmark in question is to shell out $2 million dollars to go towards the creation of a center for public policy at the City College of New York. Now, there may be some debate in Congress about whether $2 million to go towards a building at a college is "egregious" or not. Certainly in the current paradigm that is Congress, where members routinely are sending home pork to their districts, this earmark unfortunately doesn’t really stick out. EXCEPT… Now, get this. It falls under the category of "you simply couldn’tRead More

Your tax dollars at work – $6 mil in budget to train union activists…

Did you know that the budget being pushed by the Democrats (the one approved in the Assembly) includes SIX MILLION DOLLARDS TO TRAIN UNION ACTIVISTS AND CREATE PRO-UNION PROPAGANDA? It’s true. Fortunately, among other items being slated for jettison from this proposed budget by Senate Republicans is particularly noxious item.

New Radio Show to Highlight Lawsuit Abuse in CA

The LA Chapter of Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse is launching a new radio show on Saturday, August 4 at 7pm on KRLA 870 AM.

"The Broken Gavel" will feature co-hosts Peter Blysma, executive director of the LA CALA and local radio host Lores Rizkalla.

Likely the only radio program of its kind, the show will focus on Americans With Disabilities Act abuse, lawsuit abuse, lawsuit impacts on our medical system, employment lawsuits and harassment, lawsuit impacts on our schools, jury service reform, lawsuit impacts on the building industry.

Sounds like loads of fun. I will be sure to listen, at least to the first show.… Read More

Congressional Democrat Wardrobe Hypocrisy Exposed On Drudge

Matt Drudge has penned a short, funnyblurb (sorry, he doesn’t provide individual urls for these) currently featured on his site exposing Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, a Texas Democrat, for nitpickingCalifornia Republican Congressman Gary Miller about his wardrobe of a Hawaiian shirt, linens, and slippers:

SUMMER FASHION: Republican Lawmaker Rebuked For Striding Onto House Floor In Hawaiian Shirt, Slippers Wed Jul 25 2007 10:35:30 ET

Granted, it is summer, when dress codes tend to get a little looser in the face of Washington’s starched-shirt- wilting heat. But a slipper-clad Rep. Gary Miller (R-Calif.) apparently took the summer casual look a little too far and he got a dressing down for, well, dressing down!

ROLL CALL reports: During a House vote at about 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Miller strode onto the floor wearing a look better suited to a backyard cookout than the House chamber: a loose-fitting Hawaiian shirt, linen pants and slippers.

The sartorial faux pas even prompted Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas), who was presiding over theRead More
