Has Hamas’ Attack Finally Aroused Parents About Universities?

Many of us have tried somewhat in vain to alert parents about the fecklessness of supporting certain colleges and/or sending their children to them. Currently there are 3,982 colleges and universities in the United States. Some are not only dangerous for the mind of your child or grandchild, but their body as well. The reaction on college campuses to the mass terrorist murders in Israel has ripped open for everyone to see the demonic aspect of how these colleges operate. Open protests in favor of and cheering on the mass murder of Jews by Hamas are widely accepted. We already know that these groups are allowed to flaunt their hatred of Jews – something not allowed for any other defined minority on the campus. As stated previously in this column, the Jews are not perceived as being part of the “cool kids”; thus, they are open to any kind of attack or protest that no others must endure. It has been pointed out these institutions would never allow protests in support of Russia against Ukraine on their campuses. But it is “free speech” to allow people to cheer on these terrorists and their murderous actions.

This time it is different.… Read More

Guilty Until Proven Innocent

Frequently it appears the hallmark statement of our legal system has been turned on its head. It is not just that charges are made against people from which the public draws a conclusion. The person’s career is cut short before the accused has a chance to offer a proper defense, and their income is terminated. This has been going on for a while. The Me-Too Movement really accelerated this turnaround in our legal process. A man is accused of sexual indiscretions and that is the end of him. This is not to say that many of the actions discussed here are anything other than despicable. Many of them are heinous. Until they are proven in a court of law, or the perpetrator admits their wrongdoing, our system by structure assumes they are innocent. Not anymore. Even if they go to court and are judged innocent, they cannot recoup their lives. A couple cases exploded on the scene recently that amplify this. Mel Tucker, the head football coach at Michigan State, was accused by a lady of having unwanted phone sex. He had his lucrative contract cancelled fairly quickly. His attorney has asked for all records to be preserved because he is going to make a… Read More

Stunningly Stupid Statements About Hamas Attack on Israel

This column has a rule to not be one of the “Me-Too” variety. In this context, a “me-too” is when everybody and their dog is writing on a given subject. To warrant yet another take on such a huge subject requires what I believe to be a unique viewpoint. While reading many of the same things you likely saw, I found there were some amazingly inane comments by supposedly serious people. These are not from your neighbor or cousin; these are from “serious people.” Their statements will become part of the discussion as if they are real unless someone calls them out. First there is the granddaddy of stunning statements – of course it comes from our Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken. It refers to the recent $6 billion given to Iran as part of an exchange of prisoners. “Not a single dollar from that account has actually been spent to date,” Blinken said on ABC’s “This Week.” “And in any event, it’s very carefully and closely regulated by the Treasury Department to make sure that it’s only used for food, for medicine, for medical equipment.” It is startling how ignorant Cabinet members of Mr. Biden’s think we are.… Read More

Turning 70

When I was born, if I had reached this age I most likely would have met my maker. Neither of my parents made it past their fifties. Yet here I am not feeling a bit of my chronological years physically or mentally. Yesterday was my birthday and I feel glorious. I can attribute that to a few factors. One I pinpoint to when I was in college. People are constantly bemoaning things. Unhappy about life’s challenges they face. I discovered that is not a way to live. I was in the Spring semester of my senior year in college. We were faced with tackling a daunting task. In May we were going to take the CPA exam. Everyone said this was the most challenging of professional exams to obtain a license. We were taking a review course that would involve going to a full day of class every Saturday from January until the exam in May. That is not something college kids want to do on top of taking a full load of classes, working part-time jobs, and interviewing for the next step in their life experience. A large segment of people in the review class just did what people often do – bitched and moaned. I decided that was not for me. I organized a group of six… Read More

A Conspiracy Theory

When you hear someone deep diving into a conspiracy theory, do you roll your eyes and then politely thank the person for sharing their paranoid thoughts with you? I do. The theory usually involves some form of complicated conjecture which is one speculation after another. Anyone who reads my columns or talks to me knows I do not do speculation. Despite all that, I have conjured up what some would consider a conspiracy theory. Here goes. As you know, the megalomanic power clutching Xi Jinping rules Communist China. He believes that his country will rule the 21st Century, and he is attempting to extend the reach of the country throughout the world. About three and one-half years ago, China unleashed an international pandemic called Covid-19. They created a fish story about it coming from a farmers’ market, but there is no doubt it came from a nearby lab. Whether they intentionally spread it through the world can be debated. But once knowing of its existence, the Chinese control freaks did nothing to stop people from Wuhan from flying all over the world which certainly helped spread the deadly disease. This caused countries across the world to make … Read More

Protect Our Republican Candidates by Closing this Crazy Loophole in the CRP Bylaws

We need your help to protect the California Republican Party and our candidates.

This weekend, we have proposed a bylaw amendment to close a loophole that is being exploited to the detriment of our party.

Twelve years ago our party adopted a rule which results in any registered Republican who makes it to the “top two” in the jungle primary to receive the automatic endorsement of the California Republican Party.

In most cases this is not a problem. But what happens when, in a heavily democratic district, someone with a criminal history or someone very obviously racist or anti-Semitic, is the only candidate to file, and they make it into the top-two. The CRP’s seal of approval, our endorsement, goes to them automatically.

No vetting. No vote. Nothing. Our party’s endorsement – the most valuable benefit we can give a candidate – is theirs, on auto-pilot.

This has happened, more than once. Someone with a history of racism or anti-Semitism or a criminal history, re-registered as a Republican, they file, and because either there were only two candidates in the primary, or some other… Read More

It is Time for Hysteria

There is a battle brewing in Washington over our annual national budget which is supposed to be in place for the new fiscal year, beginning October 1st. The entire discussion is about whether the House Republicans will have the budget’s twelve elements ready by the deadline. The alternative is to once again invoke those favorite letters of former Speaker Nancy Pelosi – “CR” — meaning operate the government based on the old budget via Continuing Resolution. Speaker McCarthy has had a problem meeting his own goal of getting those twelve bills out of committees and to the floor so a budget can be sent to the U.S. Senate and then to the President for signature. All month the talk of the Legacy Press has been speculation as to whether we will have a government shutdown as if that is the worse catastrophe in the world. A shutdown is never good for two reasons. The Republicans get blamed even when Democrats’ fingerprints are all over the lack of a deal. The other aspect is that Washington’s weaklings always seem to make it into free vacation days for our federal employees by giving them their back pay. This pay is for doing what most of… Read More

Google is Where Democracy is Dying?

Has it been more than five minutes since you heard someone on the left spouting about how our democracy is in danger? The Washington Post adopted the slogan “Democracy Dies in Darkness,” while simultaneously keeping their readers in the dark about a multitude of critical issues. Despite all the hysteria, the Left ignores the single biggest challenge to our democracy which has been scientifically proven. Dr. Robert Epstein would be considered by most to be a member of the “elite.” He has a PhD in Experimental Psychology from Harvard. He was Editor-in-Chief of Psychology Today. He has been a visiting professor at international universities and now operates the American Institute for Behavioral Research and Technology (AIBRT). Politically, he is a self-described life-long center/center-left person who supports the Democrat party. AIBRT has researched many topics affecting our day-to-day lives including AI, parenting and stress management. Epstein has done a deep dive into manipulation of search engines to alter election results and has testified to Congressional committees regarding his research. “As of January 2018, the National Academy of… Read More
