Barry Nestande
Barry Nestande grew up surrounded by Republican politics. His father, Bruce, served Governor Reagan, was a State Assemblyman, and an Orange County Supervisor. Barrys first paying political gig was in the incomparable strategist Stu Spencers firm working on Ronald Reagans re-election, managing a state assembly race, and soaking up a ton of political wisdom. He then spent time in the financial arena working in a stock brokerage firm specializing in initial public offerings (IPOs) and private placements during the high flying tech years in California; the insurance industry, as a Property and Life Insurance Agent, specializing in the construction industry, municipalities and public works projects throughout Southern California; and a couple of years working with a national Christian radio show.Never far from the political arena, Barry re-entered full time and joined Nestande & Associates, founded by his brother Brian, former chief of staff to both Sonny and Mary Bono in Congress. A sampling of clients include: the Bonos, Huffington for Congress and US Senate, McCain for President, Benoit for Assembly, Mirada Ritz Carlton Development, Salton Sea Authority, Coachella Valley Association of Governments, and other political, business and policy oriented causes. The firm provides strategic planning, organization, and campaign services on the federal, state, and local levels to political, business and non-profit clients. He also currently serves as chief of staff to Assemblyman Benoit.Personally, Barrys most important duty is being a good husband to Merrilee, and encouraging sons Tyson and Brett to understand that the meaning of life is found by being the best that they can be. When time allows, he loves racing his dirt bikes and arguing politics and religion.
