Saturday mid-day I sent an email out to fellow California Republican Party Central Committee Members, inquiring if they would like to see the GOP candidates for Governor, Attorney General, and U.S. Senate invited to debate at next month’s State GOP Convention in Santa Clara.
You can see the e-mail that I sent out here.
I have not sent out any follow up emails (not wanting to be a pest). Still, I’ve been impressed that over a holiday weekend I have heard back from around one out of every five Central Committee members.
In that e-mail, I said that I would keep folks up to speed on the results of my informal survey periodically. Below is the second update.
NUMBER OF CRP MEMBERS RESPONDING SO FAR: 291 (Roughly 20% Of All Members)
THOSE WHO WANT INVITES TO GO OUT: 269
THOSE WHO DO NOT WANT INVITES TO GO OUT: 22
Still very overwhelming numbers in support of extending invitations.
We’ll keep updating the tally as we hear from more people.
Originally I had been told that CRP Chairman Ron Nehring would be convening a Board of Directors conference call on Tuesday to have a discussion on this issue. Because we have not received a notice of a meeting, I do not know the status of a meeting. I’ll be sure to keep you apprised.
If you are a CRP member and you didn’t yet vote (if you are blocking e-mails from Constant Contact, you may not have gotten my note), feel free to let me know here. I’m checking off each member as they vote.
