Tom McClintock’s lead over Charlie Brown is now 1,248. Even though this is 35 fewer votes than yesterday, McClintock’s lead really hasn’t diminshed despite Nevada County votes reported today. Nevada County is one of the few remaining counties still tabulating votes and it’s supposed to be a strong county for Charlie Brown. But McClintock’s Election Day GOTV was so strong that he’s maintaining his overall lead. McClintock’s campaign is to be congratulated for their Election Day work, which is now paying off.

Again, apologies for sounding like a broken record, but any news on SD19?
November 14th, 2008 at 12:00 am
According to the Secretary of State’s website, it looks like 6,095 ballots came in from Nevada County today (Friday) and netted Brown 1,183 votes. But with results from other counties, Tom still has a 533 vote lead. And there’s no longer a big block of Brown votes left which could threat Tom’s victory. So this is excellent news.

Daniel Rego and other Interested Parties:
Both Los Angeles and Santa Barbara counties updated today (Friday)
in State Senate District # 19.
Tony Strickland’s lead over Hannah Beth Jackson rose again, this
time to a margin of + 2,141.
More absentees will be added next week, but the issue won’t finally
be settled until the “Provisional” ballots are processed after the ab-
sentees.
The Democrat camp believes they’ll gain in those Provisionals, as
much as 2,000 votes….so Strickland’s gains now in the mail-ins
are vital.
As the late, great Lee Atwater might say, the GOP now needs a
“Firewall” thick enough to withstand the Provisionals at the very
end…
