One Day Convention

As many return home from the California Republican Party Convention this weekend I would like you to consider a couple ideas.

First, it is time that we only have one convention per year.  There is no need to have two.  If there is then the Chairman can call it.

We are supposed to the party of efficiency and family values.  There is no reason that the convention can’t start early on Saturday morning and adjourn later that night.  Then we could all go home and go to church with our families.  People that wanted to come early or stay longer would have that opportunity but the party business could all be done in one day.

Matt, you are so right. The money spent on the convention and the members travel and lodging could register a lot of Republicans in every district.

One-day convention = Rubber stamp of tiny leadership against the 1400 members. That’s not a Republican principle. Careful attention to rules, resolutions, and initiatives takes time. A party that can’t decide on what it believes, doesn’t believe in anything. Not my Republican Party.

In a modern world where people don’t rub sticks together for fire all of the stuff can be considered well in advance of arriving at the convention.

Careful attention to rules, resolutions, and initiatives can be accomplished without having to be standing in a convention center for 72 hours.

There is no reason that this can’t all happen with a one day convention.

I think we do it because a small minority of people have nothing better to do.

    Matt,

Ron Nehring and the ENTIRE leadership of the CRP should be FIRED!

Our state’s Republican Party is a national joke. No outreach to Latino voters. No message to independents and swing voters. No candidate recruitment program.

We need to clean house at the CRP and hire Newt Gingrich or someone else with a track record of WINNING ELECTIONS as our PAID CRP Chairman.

Since there is all this talk of firing, could somebody fire David Johnston?

I know we believe in freedom, but can we keep the loan sharks from posting? :)
