Today marks the end of eight full years of the FlashReport covering politics and policy here in the Golden State. This year alone we published thousands of blog posts and original columns. We published links to tens of thousands of articles and editorials — all with a nexus to what is going on here in California.
I wanted to take the time to express my appreciation to those that make this website possible.
The first shout-out goes to our readers (that’s YOU) for coming to our site day in and day out. Secondly I would like to thank our advertisers, without whom there would literally be no FlashReport to read. Thirdly, I would like to thank all of those people who penned columns and blog posts in 2013 — once again we broke news, we analyzed news and opined about it, too!
I want to give a special thank you to our development team at Cloudspace in Orlando. They built this site from nothing back in 2005, and they continue to keep it running. Special mention goes to Matt Cupples, who often times channels Lt. Commander Montgomery Scott “Scotty” from Star Trek, with his ability to keep things going even when it seems implausible.
Last and most certainly not least — this site could not function without the leadership role of our two editors. Our Senior Editor John Hrabe, and our Associate Editor, Anton Hartmann, are truly the heart and soul of the FlashReport. So much of the “personality” of this page is in the tireless work that they put in — sometimes at challenging times of the day and night — to pull together our original content and all of the links for aggregation. It’s a statement about their passion that, despite my offer to put this site in hiatus from Christmas-Eve through New Years Day, that they wanted to keep it up and running the whole way through. Guys, I could not do this without you!
2014 will be another crazy year for elections here in California. And you can be sure that we here at the FlashReport will continue to provide extensive and comprehensive news and opinion aggregation, as well as providing original content in the form of featured columns and blog posts throughout the year. We’ll be focused on Golden State Politics from the center-right to the right-right. As I like to say, we’re fair and biased here at the FlashReport.
So again, a final thank you to YOU, OUR LOYAL READERS!
Until next year!
