The read of the afternoon is over at Capitol Weekly (www.capitolweekly.net) where ace political writer Anthony York has written about the potential role that GOP Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner may be taking in opposition to Prop. 93, the Fabian Nunez Career Politician Term Limits Weakening Initiative.
Not only has Poizner signed the official argument against 93 on the ballot, but word is swirling far and wide that Poizner’s opposition to 93 may come with access to the Commish’s VERY deep pockets. Literally almost a billionaire, Poizner could deliver a fatal blow to Nunez’ Christmas present to himself without breaking a sweat.
Taking on the liberal legislative leaders in Sacramento is a courageous act, and we know that Poizner is up for the challenge. We sure hope that this "swirling rumor" becomes a reality. Poizner would be doing a huge favor to the people of California. Go for it!

What is Poizner doing promoting his gubernatorial run when he should be helping the victims of the fires?

Wow, Maviglio resurfaces from the wine cave

Steve, you’re right. Poizner’s only been on the fire line when he should be like selfless public servant Fabian Nunez who, when he’s not spending time and campaign money at Louis Vuitton stores or shaking down Verizon for six-figure “donations”, can be counted on to push important issues like extending his time in office rather than getting the job done on water policy, health care or redistricting reform.

Maviglio’s a busy guy. If he would read the FlashReport more often, he would have read my piece earlier in the week, detailing all of the hard work that Poizner is doing on the fires. But then, perhaps “Mav” is distracted by all of the articles about his boss, Fabulous Fabian, gouging companys to give to “his” charities.

Gee, Steve, given that Fabian Nunez has been personally counseling fire victims at the various Louis Vuitton stores in Southern California it seemed like everything was under control.

Steve, can you hear me now? Good!

Bob, Jon, and Kevin: I heard you made quite the impression with the Chamber. Sorta like Larry, Moe, and Curly.
Was Sheriff Corona not available to join you? Oh, that’s right, he’s been indicted. My bad.
