Just in over the transom, FR friend Brian Nestande (pictured below with Congresswoman Mary Bono) has decided to throw his had into the ring for the GOP nomination in the 64th District. Things are really busy in FlashHQ today, so hopefully you’ll excuse our simply reprinting Nestande’s release. Look for a lot on this race from his brother, Barry, who writes for us. We’d expect nothing less…
Brian Nestande announced his campaign for the State Assembly today. He was joined by Congresswoman Mary Bono, who stated, “I wholeheartedly endorse Brian Nestande in his race for the State Assembly. Brian has the knowledge and experience needed to make a real difference for the voters of this District and I look forward to working with him in his new role”.
Nestande has owned a consulting business in the 64th District for the past seven years representing clients and issues throughout Riverside County. He is well known throughout the community, having formerly served as Chief of Staff to Congressman Sonny Bono and Congresswoman Mary Bono.
The current incumbent, Assemblyman John J. Benoit, who is running for the 37th Senate District, also endorsed Nestande and said, “Brian Nestande’s vast experience in the business and political communities uniquely qualifies him to serve the people of the 64th District. I look forward to working with Brian in the State Capitol. ”
“I am honored to have received the support of both Congresswoman Mary Bono and Assemblyman John Benoit. As a legislator, I will focus on the issues important to our community: reducing traffic congestion, keeping our communities safe and improving the quality of life for the people of the 64th Assembly District,” said Brian Nestande.
