Drudge Report now has a link up to an ABC 7 News story about Democrat California Congressman Bob Filner’s physical altercation with a United Airlines employee near the baggage claim area of Dulles International Airport last night.
ABC 7 reports:
"ABC 7/Newschannel 8’s Jay Korff learned that police were called to the baggage claim area around 6 p.m. when a passenger attempted to enter an area authorized for airline employees only.
"ABC 7/Newschannel 8’s Kris Van Cleave spoke with several witnesses who say they saw Filner push aside an United Airlines employee and refused to leave the office.
"When officers arrived on scene, they found Filner waiting outside the office and informed him the airline employee would be pursuing charges.
"Investigators say the employee appeared before a Loudoun County Magistrate Sunday evening and Filner is now scheduled to appear in General District Court on October 2."
Airline horror stories are more prevalent than ever these days. We all know (and have probably experienced) the inconveniences of air travel. No doubt many people will sympathize with Congressman Filner.
However, Members of Congress — of all people — should be aware and respectful of the necessary security precautions in place in American (and foreign) airports. Did Congressman Filner forget that September 11th is less than a month away?

Nice job, Filner. Good thing for you that you weren’t flying on El Al, they don’t take crap like that.
