Tag Line Journalism!

I am a little worked-up that our intrepid publisher tag-lined my last post on the Fabrizio national Republican poll to somehow undercut the import of this unbiased survey showing broad support for Giuliani as a secondary note of the poll, by qualifying my post, in red no less, that I am also a Giuliani supporter! In response, and rather than bury my thoughts in a comment, I am issuing this blog challenge, and not to Fleischman! Hey Jon, I’m just reporting what I heard a respected pollster say, who is not a Giuliani consultant. I hope when I go see the Red Sox play the Angels in a couple of weeks here in Anaheim, that you won’t tag-line my further posts thinking I’ve joined the Romney road show with Mike Schroeder (former CRP Chairman), Scott Baugh (current OC GOP Chairman), and Adam Probolsky (respected OC-based pollster), all of whom have endorsed Romney, and call Orange County "Romney country." Well, I’ll be rooting for the Angels during that series. I hereby challenge Schroeder, Baugh and Probolsky to show up at the upcoming Angels/Red Sox series wearing those same questionable Red Sox hats they quite visably sported in the media when they went to that ball game with Romney in Boston. Then let’s see if Anaheim stadium is indeed "Romney country!" But don’t ask me about the Yankees.

I think it is important perspective to know who our folks support when they blog on a political race. That said I still see Baugh and Probolsky around often in their Boston Red Sox hats. Guess I will have to go pull out my Dodger cap!

    Jim:

Your protestations of being “worked up” over Jon Fleischman’s editorial note (“in red, no less”) caused me to immediately scroll down to find out what you said/he said. I wanted to decide for my self what this bubbling controversy was all about.

Sorry, Jim, but Jon is right on this one.

Had you simply cut an pasted the poll in question, I would have agreed with you that your political proclivities were irrelevant.

BUT, your earlier post was 100% interpretive of what you thought you might have heard the pollster say.

    We all hear things differently.

Therefore, it is important that the reader know of your biases and/or leanings in helping to determine whether or not your conclusions might be merely wishful thinking.

Dennis Miller Republicans or not, when push comes to shove, I can’t believe the GOP will nominate Mayor Rudy, Senator McCain or his cohort Senator Thompson.

Maybe for VP, but not the top job.

    Dana:

So when you protested my blog protestations of Adriana Huffington in part regarding her weird husband that took out a good man, Bob Lagomarsino from the Congress, for the sake of a very short term in office, with the seat now in Democrat hands, should you have also disclosed you had some sort of discrediting bias, because you may have worked for or supported the weird husband’s Senate race?

I’ll bet you have a Boston Red Sox hat in the truck of your car!

Why would ANYONE wear red socks?

Seems like an affectation to me.
