As FR readers know, I am not partial to reprinted press releases up on this blog. That said, this morning the California Republican Party issued a release chock-full of new appointments that are all worth sharing, and I have no desire to virtually re-write what they’ve put out… So here it is:
The California Republican Party today announced the following nominations and appointments have taken place since the election of a new Chairman and Board of Directors at its February convention.
CRP Chairman Ron Nehring announced the nomination of Steven Francis, Chairman of AMN Healthcare, to serve as the California Republican Party’s new Finance Chairman. Mr. Francis is a successful business leader in Southern California and a board member of The New Majority donor group, the Lincoln Club, plus numerous charitable and civic organizations including Father Joe Villages, the Chamber of Commerce, and the YMCA. This position requires Board of Directors approval.
The Board of Directors has named Michael Kamburowski to the post of Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Kamburowski is a national issue management strategist and past Executive Director of the American Shareholders Association. Interestingly, Mr. Kamburowski, an Australian immigrant who was inspired by Ronald Reagan to come to America, later led the Ronald Reagan Legacy Project in Washington, D.C. as Executive Director, and in that role helped lead the legislative campaign to rename Washington’s National Airport after the 40th President of the United States. He will be based in Los Angeles and divide time between the party’s Sacramento and Los Angeles offices.
Financial advisor Tony Krvaric has been named chairman of the California Republican Party’s Budget Committee, and has since been elected Chairman of the Republican Party of San Diego County, replacing Chairman Ron Nehring. Mr. Krvaric, an immigrant from Sweden, will lead the development of the party’s budget and oversee expenditures. He is based in San Diego.
Hector Barajas has been named Director of Communications for the California Republican Party. Mr. Barajas previously served as Press Secretary. Since his appointment he has implemented a new communications program aimed at supporting the Republican governing agenda in the capitol, providing response to Democrat presidential candidates as they come to California, and improving communications to party stakeholders. He is based in Sacramento.
Republican National Committee Chairman Mike Duncan has appointed California’s National Committeeman Tim Morgan and National Committeewoman Barbara Alby to the RNC’s "Committee on Arrangements," which is responsible for the logistics of the 2008 Republican National Convention in Minneapolis. Mr. Morgan also serves as Treasurer of the Republican National Committee.
