As you have seen over the past couple of weeks, we are very actively ‘enhancing and retooling’ the FlashReport Weblog Contributor Pool.
I am very excited that we have a great team of folks…
- From the ‘north state’ (above Sacramento) we have Doug LaMalfa.
- From the Bay Area, Bill Whalen and Jennifer Nelson.
- From the Sacramento Area, Tom Ross and Joe Justin.
- From the Central Coast we have Amy Thoma (though she is on leave as the Assembly Republican Leader, for whom she works, grapples with whether to let Amy continue to write for us…).
- From the Central Valley we have they ‘shy guy’ Mike Der Manouel, Jr.
- From Los Angeles we’ve got our high-volume producer, Mike Spence.
- From San Bernardino County, the one and old Brad Mitzelfelt.
- From Riverside County, the Howard Kaloogian’s best friend Phil Paule.
- From Orange County the irrepressible duo of Adam Probolsky and Matt Cunningham.
- And finally, from San Diego County, we have Barry Jantz and Duana Dichiara.
In addition to our regional correspondents, we have:
- From the United States Capitol, we have Congressman John Campbell.
- Following the State Capitol we have Dan Schnur and Karen Hanretty (and Assemblyman La Malfa for good measure).
- For legal issues, we have attorney Mike Houston.
- Batting cleanup is your favorite blogger (right?) – me!
That said, I am officially hanging the ‘help wanted’ sign as I consider adding a few more regionally-based contributors.
So, if you are politically ‘in the know’ and astute, can write well, and find yourself on the political spectrum somewhere between center-right and right in your philosophy, then you may be the perfect candidate. You also have to be committed to keeping a close eye on what is going on in your area — bringing us news and tidbits, as well as your analysis. While regional correspondents can talk about a lot of stuff, their prime mission is to bring that valued local perspective to the weblog.
Here are the areas where I may be adding contributors:
- SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA
- CENTRAL COAST
- CENTRAL VALLEY
- LOS ANGELES COUNTY
Of course, I am open to other ideas about contributors to the site. As a matter of fact, any feedback on this weblog of welcome, either through a public comment to this posting, an email to me, or an anonymous note. Send me an email if you are interested in being considered as an FR regional corresopondent. You are also welcome to drop me a note from an area where I am not looking if you want to get on the ‘radar screen’ in case one of my current folks starts to slack off!
Hint: a good way to ‘show your stuff’ would be to write up a sample blog post of what you might put up if you were a correspondent, to show me how you would do things! :-)

Once Bilbray is in DC, can he join Rep. Campbell as a Congressional BLOGER ?

Absolutely Phil. He should be able to provide the RINO/moderate point of view very well. He can write about how he works night and day to bring home the bacon to the 50th district and run up the deficit as well. He can write about how bad the 2ND Amendment is for America and how he votes time after time against reasonable restrictions on abortion. I think that’s a great idea.

By the way, Jon… Northstate is one word (and capitalized) for those of us who live up here. Besides, for those of us in Siskiyou County Doug lives in Richvale, which is officially southern California. ;)
…and I don’t see a listing for correspondents from the State of Jefferson….
