AppointmentWatch: 5 GOP, 1 Dem, 1 DTS

These additional appointments from the Governor just came over the wire.

Special "shout out" to FR friend John McCammon (who was Republican Congressman George Radanovich’s Chief of Staff for many years) and a special mention to Christine Ruben who had been working for Chuck Poochigian’s campaign for AG, and is now going to be Deputy Secretary for Communications at the State and Consumer Services Agency.

There are five Republicans, one Democrat and one Decline-to-State in this batch of appointments:

THE REPUBLICANS

  • William Bush, 54, of Elk Grove, has been appointed undersecretary of the State and Consumer Services Agency. He has served for over 30 years at the Franchise Tax Board and has held the position of interim executive officer since 2005. Bush is a Republican.
  • John McCamman, 52, of McLean, Virginia, has been appointed chief deputy director of the Department of Fish and Game. He served as a senior vice president for Fleishman-Hillard Government Relations from 2003 to 2006 and is currently a principle for National Policy Strategies. McCamman was previously chief of staff for United States Congressman George Radanovich from 1994 to 2003.  McCamman is a Republican.
  • BreAnda Northcutt, 30, of West Sacramento, has been appointed deputy secretary for communications at the California Environmental Protection Agency. She has served as deputy communications director in the Office of the Governor since 2005. Northcutt is a Republican.
  • Christine Rubin, 47, of San Diego, has been appointed deputy secretary for communications at the State and Consumer Services Agency. She currently serves as communications director for Chuck Poochigian for Attorney General. Rubin is a Republican.
  • Michael Wintemute, 35, of Elk Grove, has been appointed deputy secretary for external affairs at the Resources Agency. He has served as deputy secretary for communications at the Environmental Protection Agency since 2005. Wintemute is a Republican.

THE DEMOCRAT

  • Anthony Williams, 42, of Beverly Hills, has been appointed to the California Science Center Board. He is currently a developer of residential property in Southern California. Williams is a Democrat.

THE DECLINE-TO-STATE

  • David Runnels, 45, of Janesville, has been appointed deputy director of the Division of Adult Operations at the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. He has served for over 20 years in the Department of Corrections, most recently as acting deputy director of the Division of Adult Operations. Runnels is registered decline-to-state.
