Waxing Philosophical
Rep. Henry Waxman didn’t endear himself to many of his Democratic colleagues last week when he seemed to say he wouldn’t mind if some of them didn’t win re-election.
"I think a lot of the House seats we’re going to lose are those who have been the toughest for the Democrats to pull into line — the Democrats that have been the most difficult," Mr. Waxman, chairman of the powerful Energy and Commerce committee, was quoted as saying by The Hill newspaper.
Acknowledging his party will see serious losses this fall is an unsettling admission for a senior member of the Democratic leadership in the House to make. But the California Democrat went on to profess that he sees a silver lining in defeat: "With the increased Republican margins, they won’t be able to act as if they have no responsibilities. I think they are going to be called upon to be accountable."
Mr. Waxman should be careful what he wishes for. Voters may agree so strongly that they even decide Republicans should be in the majority and held accountable for dismantling the tax-and-spend-and-regulate policies that many voters believe are holding back recovery and job growth. Then Mr. Waxman himself would experience the true accountability of being relegated to the relatively powerless minority.

The blogosphere is going to be one hilarious read after election day!\
I only hope this batch of Republicans don’t prove to be the historic letdown the last group were…

The best way to handle the next two years is investigation after investigation after investigation on energy, health care, the Chicago Way, Shorebank, each and every Czar’s emails, memos, letters, speeches, directives, regulations….when done start over!!!
