Charles Munger, Jr., A Donor Who Seeks To Reduce Role of Political Parties To Now Head One Up

Charles Munger, Jr.

Charles Munger, Jr, the wealthy son of Warren Buffet’s close business partner, who has emerged as one of the most divisive players in California Republican politics will be ascending to the Chairmanship of the Republican Party in Santa Clara County.   Recently Munger played a huge role in driving an inter-mural battle within the California Republican Party, seeking to gut the party’s platform.  Party regulars from around the state rallied and overcame Munger’s finances to prevail.  Prior to the assault on the party platform, Munger weighed in as a support of Proposition 14 which was championed by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abel Maldonado.  Right in the arguments for supporting Prop. 14 in the Secretary of State Voter Information Pamphlet was, “The best part of the open primary is that it would lessen the influence of the major parties…”

So according to the rumor mill, Munger’s first act as Chairman will be to replace the Republican Elephant on the Santa Clara County GOP with a photo of a puppy dog.  All joking aside, it is worth noting that someone who seeks to reduce the influence of political parties is now going to be the Chairman of one.

Here is an email that was sent out to all of the members of the Santa Clara County Republican Party Central Committee…

This email serves as a reminder notice of our Santa Clara Republican Central Committee Meeting. Our meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 8th.

These coastal rich guys are bent on pushin conservatives out to the wind blown deserts, gold country wastelands, the parched central valley and to tranquil pineee forests….

    So,

I think it’s now well-established that the CA Reep party is, definitionally, a loser.

It supports a variety of unpopular causes (and candidates) that just don’t resonate with most CA voters. Anti-choice, religious bias, “family values” crap (codeword for anti-LGBT), creationism, etc. – all add to the party’s stench to Joe Average Californian – who really just cares about keeping his job and keeping taxes low, and maybe having his kid learn something at school.

    Remember…
    – We are barely hanging at ~1/3 of legislatiure.
    – Statewide offices – can we even elect State Dogcatcher or other downlist offices?

So just about ANY change will be helpful.. voters are saying the stench of the party is such that they’re willing to harm themselves (more taxes, more gov’t) just to run away from the Reeps.

What part of NOT WINNING does the CA Reep party mangement not understand?

As a person concerned with only one major issue and one lesser issue – gun rights and taxes – I see the CA Reep party mmgmt’s eager establishment of “permanent loser” status as WORKING AGAINST MY INTERESTS.

I dimly recall the last Reep candidate was run out of Silicon Valley when he touted support for a creationist teacher that was getting his arse run out of Cupertino.

Geesh…40 days in the desert ain’t all that bad!

If your a marginally educated resident subject to the ravages of globalism and cylical downturns ala unemployment and dead end career paths…..what party is appealing???

I have stated the obvious on many rants…Reeps should OWN the education issue as well as job training…. and stop running daff rich candidates who look at public service as becoming the UNO cocktail party grazer!!!

Give the coastal rich guys a bit of credit….they are buying BOTH parties…sorta like a corporate merger….

You can buy too!!! Buy sunscreen, white shorts and tennies…looks like 40 days in Boron or Indio could extend out a tad!!!
