Last night I received an email from Celeste Greig, President of the California Republican Assembly (dubbed the conscience of the GOP) — who informed me that on behalf of the CRA, she has introduced two resolutions for consideration at next weekend’s California Republican Party Convention.

Resolution Denouncing "Republican Traitors
For Consideration at the Convention in Sacramento, March 18-20, 2011

Whereas, California is suffering from the predictable results of hugh taxes, oppressive fees,
burdensome assessments, and outrageous government excessive demands of every
sort and description, which have destroyed our state’s business climate, caused
employers to flee the state, increased unemployment, eroded our tax based, raised
consumer prices, and seriously damaged our economy; and
Whereas, Governor Jerry Brown and the Democrats who control the California Legislature
are seeking higher taxes and they have even proposed to extend the largest tax
increases in California history, despite the fact that such an extension was soundly
rejected by the voters in May, 2009; and
Whereas, traitorous Republican Assembly members____________, ____________, ________
and Senators______________, _________________, __________ (fill-in when known)
betrayed the principles and platform of the California Republican Party by voting to
place massive tax increases on the ballot, with full knowledge of the terrible
impact that their votes would have on California taxpayers, the state’s economy,
and the future of the California Republican Party; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, that the California Republican Party censures these traitorous Republicans-in-Name
-Only, ask for their resignation from their positions within the California Republican
Party, pledges to endorse and support efforts to recall them from office, and directs the
California Republican Party staff, agents and officers to refuse to provide them with
funding or assistance in future elections.

Whereas, California is suffering from the predictable results of high taxes, oppressive
fees, burdensome assessments, and outrageous government excessive demands
of every sort and description, which have destroyed our state’s business climate,
caused employers to flee the state, increased unemployment, eroded our tax base,
raised consumer prices, and seriously damaged our economy, and
Whereas, Governor Jerry Brown and the Democrats who control the California
Legislature are seeking higher taxes and they have even proposed to extend the
largest tax increases in California history, despite the fact that such an extension
was soundly rejected by the voters in May, 2009, and
Whereas, California’s Republican legislators have been forced to endure a withering
barrage of vicious attacks from the Democrats and their special interest allies for
defending taxpayers and the productive sector of society, on whom our future
depends; and
Whereas, no California Republican candidate has ever run for public office, under
the platform of raising taxes, specially when voters are being overburden with
tremendous gasoline prices. and yes "we’re being assault like never before"; and
Whereas, our brave Republican legislators have refuse to place tax increases on the
ballot unless they were accompanied by a ballot measure to cut taxes by an equal
or greater amount; now, be it
Resolved, that the California Republican Party commends the brave, tax-fighting
Republicans legislators who refused to yield to pressure to raised taxes on the
working families of California and expand the size of California’s bloated and
wasteful government.
