Uncontested in his bid for Chairman of the California Republican Party, Tom Del Beccaro is still waging a very aggressive campaign… He’s been traveling around the state as a pace that would make a gubernatorial candidate look lazy. Now he has released two new web-videos. Below I have embedded them both, and beneath them his campaign release which gives production credits.
Del Beccaro Campaign Release: New Web Ads: Game Plan Shows the Way Forward for California Republicans
Some people think Republicans in California are out. However, we all know we are NOT out.
In fact, Tom Del Beccaro’s campaign launched two (2) new Web ads today that prove we’re still swinging for the fences.
The ads were produced with unusual help from Hollywood, signaling that Del Beccaro intends to utilize every resource available to communicate to Californians in new and unique ways if elected to Chairman during next weekend’s California Republican Party Convention.
The first spot, titled “Endorsement,” shows supporters of Del Beccaro discussing the goal of “rebuilding a championship team.” The spot was written by Jennifer Kerns, founder of K Street Communications in Sacramento, and Executive Produced by Michael Emerson and Dr. Joel Strom, both of Los Angeles.
The second spot, titled “Tom for Chair,” shows Del Beccaro addressing the numerous crises that face the State — and the Republican image, for that matter. It’s tough talk, for tough times. That spot was co-written by Michael Emerson, Dr. Joel Strom, and Jennifer Kerns.
Emerson was Director of both spots.
To understand how Hollywood intersects with Republican politics, one has to know the team behind the camera. If you’re a fan of The Biography Channel or The History Channel, chances are you have probably seen Michael’s work. Emerson is best known for his countless patriotic and biographical programs including “Vietnam in HD” and The History Channel’s award-winning ten-part series, “World War II in HD.” He is the Producer and Director of “The Pat Tillman Story” about U.S. Army Green Beret and NFL player Pat Tillman who was killed in the War in Afghanistan shortly after 9/11. Emerson is the recipient of 16 prestigious awards including the advertising industry’s Clio Award and the Pollie Award for political advertising.
Strom has cut his teeth on numerous campaigns in California, including Pete Wilson for Governor and Rudy Giuliani for President, to name a few, and has worked with others to distribute and market David Zucker’s American Carol and Clarion Fund’s Third Jihad. He has worked on Gary Sinise’s Brothers at War and most recently produced Media Malpractice: How Obama Won the Election. A dentist by profession, Dr. Strom was appointed to the California State Dental Board by Governor Pete Wilson in 1991, and became the Board’s President in 1997. Strom and Emerson recently joined forces to create the production company titled “Dept. 7.” Their tagline is “where Hollywood meets Politics and turns right.”
The Web ads offer a sneak peek of Del Beccaro’s new game plan for Republicans leading into the State Convention next weekend.
