Governor Schwarzenegger has unveiled a tough new 60 second television commercial in which he looks straight into the camera and makes it clear to Californians that the Governor is committed to rejecting any budget that includes tax increases, that does not curb waste fraud or abuse, or that "kicks the can" into the future. It’s a great commercial, and in sixty seconds provides and much stronger message to the public than the weak California Teachers Association ads that ran last week. You can see the Governor’s new commercial below.
I want to take the opportunity to thanks and commend Governor Schwarzenegger for uniting Republicans in this particular budget negotiation. The State is facing and unprecedented financial shortfall — and the unions that control the Democrats in the legislature are desperate to avoid the kinds of real cuts that it will take to balance the books.

To bad he didn’t stick to the principles of the 05 election. He could have had the moral authority to be outraged at the current dilemma. At this point it makes him look like an opportunist.

He is not so much an opportunist as a populist who supports any position that he thinks is most popular.

This is great!! Three cheers for the Governor!
Personally, I really believe this is who Arnold is simply because you cannot have worked in the business community/ private sector and have been successful (as Arnold has), experienced the silly regulations, road-blocks and punitive taxes without becoming jaded. It only takes a couple times with the dimwits in Sacramento meddling and screwing your business to build up resentment. Call me crazy, but I have interacted with a couple of the most liberal business people one could imagine who also have those feelings. I think Arnold has that but he has surrounded himself with too many government-first people and it has screwed him up. Hopefully he breaks through that and remembers his roots, that is his business dealings in the private sector that made him successful and that it was government that did nothing but throw up roadblocks. Most politicians, such as Karen Bass, don’t have that background and life experiences to fall back on and that is why they are beyond hope.
Let’s hope for the best.
