FlashReport readers will now have another place to aim their browsers as my friend Joel Fox has launched a new website with what promises to be an interesting blog – Fox and Hounds. Joel is the President of the Small Business Action Committee, and is former President of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association.
The site clearly runs the gamut of political opinion when you see Governor Schwarzenegger’s longtime Democrat advisor Bonnie Reiss topping the blogpen over there — she’ll be a balance to the more right-leaning Fox! Joel’s put together a promising crew of bloggers, and we truly wish him the best of luck with his endeavor. Trust me, ’tis no easy thing!
On the occasion of the launch of Fox and Hounds, I asked Joel if he would pen something about the new blog for FR readers, and here it is…
We launched a new website today designed to discuss the mix of business and politics in California. The site is called Fox and Hounds Daily and can be reached at www.foxandhoundsdaily.com. The intent of Fox & Hounds Daily is to bring the world of California politics to the business person, and to explain to opinion leaders how legislation and regulations impact businesses throughout the state. In other words, how the world of politics affects business and how the world of business affects, and is affected by, politics — and what those connections mean to the people in this state that both worlds serve.Fox&Hounds Daily is a non-partisan site and will feature writers from varying backgrounds and political persuasions. Some of are bloggers include Bonnie Reiss, former Senior Advisor to Governor Schwarzenegger; Joe Mathews, former Los Angeles Times reporter; Allan Hoffenblum, publisher of the California Target Book; Rex Hime, president of the California Business Properties Association; Dr. Keith Richman, former Assemblyman; Brendan Huffman, President of the Valley Industry and Commerce Association; John Kabatek, Executive Director of the National Federation of Independent Businesses; Michael Shires, public policy professor at Pepperdine University and communications strategists and consultants Patrick Dorinson, Chandra Sharma and Elizabeth Crothers.Other bloggers will be added to our rolls soon. Besides bloggers, Fox&Hounds Daily will feature commentaries written by political and business leaders from throughout California, as well as carrying daily news items, satire pieces, and weekly profiles of successful business leaders. The page is accessible at http://www.foxandhoundsdaily.com.A tip of the hat to Flash Report publisher Jon Fleischman for his freely offered advice on setting up a blog website. Come and visit.
