Last week, California College Republican leader Leigh Wolfe led a group of CR activists to the San Jose office of Democrat Assemblyman Jim Beall to protest his legislation which would hike the state’s tax on beer by a staggering 1500%!
Wolfe put together a great video of the event, the highlight of which is clearly is when Assemblyman Beall mingles amongst the protesters and gets into a dialogue with Beall.
Check out the video. I’m sure that Assemblyman Beall is excited that going forward, when you search for videos of him on You Tube will turn up this – his assault on beer drinkers, including college students.

What do you expect. Educate idiots to vote for idiots….the key is education. No Democrat of the post WW2 period would tolerate the current hippie infested Democrats in the legislature.
And remember GREEN does not mean FREEDOM!

The beer tax increase or any other form of tax increases are definitely wrong.
However, when Leigh Wolfe exclaims that “a big chunk of our paycheck is spent on beer” it just makes me wonder how much is “a big chunk”.
The next time I hear somone like Leigh Wolfe cries wolf over tuition increases, I don’t want to hear it. Because, if he and other students can afford the beer, then paying for a college education should be an icing on the cake.
Mr. Wolfe has handled this situation poorly. He should have pointed out the tax is a tax and any increases is “highway robbery” regardless without belly-aching it on a personal level.

I have a feeling he was being facetious. I think most people laughed when they read that. Lighten up.

Allen, I agree with Ryan. I think that Leigh Wolfe and company are trying to make a point. I thought that it was a great video and made a great point. Levity while making a serious point is an art that is lost on many these days.

First and foremost, I apologize to Ryan, Jon, Leigh and others that may have found my comments too strong.
I applaud for the CCR group to take the lead and march on to the offices of a Democratic Assemblymember, in this case Jim Beal of San Jose, to make a point.
At the moment, I do not have sound on my computer to hear what went on, but I can read lips and see what went on in the clip that was posted on here.
I welcome humor to convey a point. Trust me, I am not that ALWAYS serious and I can be sarcastic myself at times.
Again, My apologies to all.
Thank you for your time.

Assemblyman Beall and I were best friends in high school at Bellarmine Prep and I can say he enjoyed beer, even as a teenager.
