Some incredible photos from SD, the actual Witch Creek Fire shots from Poway and Rancho Bernardo courtesy of local attorney Jeff Scott. RB alone lost over 700 homes. Jeff’s Poway home survived, even though just a few blocks away from what you see here….

An early morning photo from Wednesday, with some of the volunteers I wrote about yesterday in support of the relief efforts. That’s Lakeside Water District Board Member Frank Hilliker in the truck, a refrigerated unit donated by his family-owned business, Hilliker’s Ranch Fresh Eggs in Lakeside. Standing with the Kiwanians and other volunteers is La Mesa Councilman Ernie Ewin (sixth from the left) and Assemblyman Joel Anderson (fourth from the right). I’m in there somewhere.

Please give many thanks to Jeff Scott on the pictures he took and posted on Flashreport, so that readers can understand what you all are confronted with.
The strong sense of unity and community pride is amazing throughout San Diego County. My prayers are with you all to get through this crisis.
Regards.

The picture of the house on Sand Hill Road is my home. The house was saved, thanks to the man you see fighting the fire, Jason Falarski, and 3 other firefighters. They came all the way from Santa Clara to save my home.
We lost a lot of homes this week, but for every home lost I am confident 10 were saved because firefighters like Jason came from around the country to fight for our community.

It doesn’t surprise me to see Hilliker’s Egg truck in that picture. Major kudos to the Hilliker’s. Frank started calling me at 4 am Monday to make sure I was aware that the fire was getting close to me and to see if I needed help loading my kids and my car. The Hilliker’s are fantastic people who always help when someone is in need!
