Today was the day the $3 million of the CRP’s Victory ’06 massive debt was due. Yesterday the current CRP Board got an extension on the $3 million dollar portion of the $4.5 million owed until…….. August. Or so I’m told by four non-CRP board members that have all told me the same story.
What will be different in August? The CRP will have paid about a half a million bucks in interest. The real question is when will the Governor keep his pledge to pay this debt rather than keep raising money for his own fund.
By the September CRP Convention we will only have the shirts on our backs—if we’re lucky.
You can see my last post on this that has links to the Victory ’06 debacle here.

There are 5.3 million Republicans in California.
I find it hard to believe that anyone would consider a $4.5 million CRP debt to be “massive.” That’s less than $1.00 per memeber.
Hundreds of millions of dollars are raised and spent for political purposes in this state each election cycle. It obviously is not that difficult. Party people should stop whining about what the Governor is or is not doing and just go raise the money.
As a registered Republican, simply tell me where to send my $1.00 and I’ll put it in the mail tonight.

I wouldn’t send the CRP $1 if they were gonna use it to papercut Bob Mulholland.
