More Statesmanship

Since my commentary yesterday on statesmanship in the GOP, and those candidates during last weekend’s California Republican Party convention who had offered public congrats to their winning opponents, the comments and emails have been fast and furious.

This includes some added remarks of congratulations, although no coincidence between the following and my FR post of yesterday is implied or intended:

Dear Republican Leader,

I want to congratulate Laura Gadke on her election as the California Republican Party Vice Chairman for the Central Valley Region.

I believe both Laura and I ran a campaign based on wanting to help Republican Central Committees and volunteer organizations in our region. Our goals are the same: to help our Central Committees build better registration programs, expand Republican volunteer programs and our donor base.

I pledge to help Laura in her efforts and I look forward to working with her and our Central Committee members and volunteer organizations throughout the Central Valley Region.

I know you all will join with me in saying well done Laura and we look forward to your efforts in behalf the Republican Party.

Sincerely,

Carl Burton

PS.  I want to thank all of the people who supported me and who voted for me at the California Republican Party convention. I appreciate your votes and I look forward to working with each of you to advance the Republican Party agenda.

And another….

I am sad to say that this is the final edition of the Wall Street Report.

I have been honored to serve as your representative to the California Republican Party. I have greatly enjoyed my time spent with you as Vice Chairman South.

Please know that your kindnesses and your warm hospitality are greatly appreciated. I will treasure the many friendships that we have developed.

Over the last several months, we have spoken at length about growing our Party through coalition building, about the importance of building and enhancing infrastructure in all 58 counties, about developing stronger farm teams, and about being a united Party, all the while staying committed to our Republican principles.

Congratulations to our new Vice Chairman South, Jon Fleischman. I am sure you will have ample opportunity to share your insights with him as well.

During the last four years, we became a much more united CRP under the guidance of Duf Sundheim. With the leadership of our new Chairman Ron Nehring, Vice Chairman Tom Del Becarro, and the Board of Directors, I am sure we will continue to move forward, becoming a much stronger, more effective CRP.

Here are to many Republican victories!!

My very best wishes,

Warene Wall
FORMER CRP VICE CHAIRMAN SOUTH
