Universal Coverage

Only one question:  Where has it ever worked?  Britain’s system is bankrupt.  Canada’s is beset with rationing and long wait times.  Tennessee abandonded its system.  Maine has had nothing but problems.

It’s a simple question that should be asked by every journalist in California covering this administration and its’ healthcare plans.

Are you saying the current system works?

  2. mderman@dmig.com Says:

Of course not. Illegal immigration is killing the ER system.

Again, I ask: where has additional government involvement in a healthcare system ever worked?

You might want to ask the millions of senior citizens in this country who have health care because of the government that otherwise wouldn’t.

Would that be the program currently underfunded by $14 trillion?

A new tax on Doctors will drive a significant number of these
professionals out of the state, further lowering availability of
    medical care.

The last thing State government should do now is punish
    and stigmatize our Doctors.

If anything like this proposal gets through the Legislature,
I think we all know it will be suspended by a Referendum
petition, and likely defeated by voters.

If that sounds familiar, it’s what happened to SB 2, which
voters repealed with Prop. 72 in November 2004.
