CD50: Hauf releases statement – not one for mincing words!

“I have decided to mount an aggressive campaign for the Republican nomination to save this seat for the Republican majority in Congress.  I will campaign seven days a week between now and June 6th and spend whatever it takes to prevail in next month’s Republican primary,” Bill Hauf said.

“Brian Bilbray, my opponent in the June 6th primary, has achieved what no one thought possible.  He has single-handedly taken a safe Republican congressional seat in North County and placed it in jeopardy and, according to one recent poll, he now trails Democrat Francine Busby by 5%,” Hauf added.  “Brian Bilbray has come up from his lifelong home in South County with a liberal agenda that has split the Republican Party in the 50th Congressional District.  He has succeeded in alienating many conservatives who swear they will say away from the polls on June 6th rather than vote for a candidate who is a Republican in name only.”

“My candidacy,” Hauf said, “is about uniting all Republicans in the 50th CD and bringing back conservative voters who believe, as I do, in a return to traditional family values, the rights granted by the 2nd Amendment, lower taxes and a reduction in federal spending as well as securing our foreign borders,”

“My opponent, Mr. Bilbray, is a special interest lobbyist and big government Republican who represents everything that is wrong in Washington, DC.  Republican candidates, like Brian Bilbray, with no core conservative convictions are precisely the reason why we are in danger of losing control of the House of Representatives in November.  I am the candidate of change who is dedicated to restoring our conservative voice in Congress,” Mr. Hauf said.

Hauf has ZERO and I mean ZERO chance of winning, thus all he wants to do is see that a very liberal Dem is in Congress in the 50th. If Hauf thinks he can win the primary in June and then beat Busby in November, he is on a fools venture. The champagne must be flowing at the DCCC right now.

If Hauf is serious about becoming the repulican candidate in the November elections, he should stress how those elections will shape our struggle against the jihadists who want to destroy our Nation. His main argument should be that the democratic party is dominated by its rabid anti-war left, and if the democrats control Congress they will hand victory to the jihadists. He should remind the voters that the jihadists have not attacked us at home since 9/11 simply because if they did that they would make it more difficult for the democrats to win elections. He should stress that by killing a few Americans in Iraq day after day instead of killing thousands of us here, by destabilizing Iraq instead of causing us billions worth damages in the U.S., the jhadists help the American Left to drum up its defeatist propaganda, sow doom and discoragement, induce people to get mad at George Bush, so that they may win elections, and then make a gift of Iraq to our sworn enemy. By asking voters to chew on this fact, he will convince them that a vote for any democrat – Busby included – is a vote for the jihadists’ victory and America’s defeat.
If Hauf makes this argument the basis of his campaign he has a strong chance of winning. The best campaign slogan he could use is “Nobody can beat America but America itself” and then add “a vote for Busby would help Leftist America beat Mainstream America, a vote for me would assure the victory of Mainstream America against the jihadists and any other conceivable enemy” The same approach should also be taken by all republican political campaigns in the forthcoming elections.
