[Funny, Joe Justin and I both posted on the same topic – if this isn’t a clarion call for action – making a donation to Matt – what is?]
Matt Rexroad is a good buddy of mine. For years he has toiled on behalf of conservative candidates and causes. He has served his country honorably in the military, and served many years working in the State Capitol. Right now, Matt is the Mayor of the city of Woodland, which is in Yolo County, right near the Sacramento Airport. Matt is making a run for Yolo County Supervisor, and with a lot of hard work, he is well on his way to retiring an ineffective incumbent.
I was quite pleased to read this morning that the Sacramento Bee has endorsed Matt’s candidacy for Supervisor, and so I will share with you what they said. No matter where you live in California, or nationally — if you believe that the people who make sacrifices on behalf of conservative values should be rewarded, take a moment to visit Matt’s website, and like I did, make a small contribution. Let’s get him elected to the Board of Supervisors!
Sacramento Bee endorses Rexroad for Supervisor
Of the three candidates running to represent the 3rd District on the Yolo County Board of Supervisors, Woodland Mayor Matt Rexroad is the most capable and deserves your vote. It’s true there is a reason to be wary of potential conflicts between his job as Supervisor and his political consulting business. Nonetheless, he is smart, knowledgeable, and well prepared to address the serious flooding, budgetary and growth issues facing the county.
Rexroad is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran that participated in the invasion of Iraq. Raised in the 3rd District, he is a lawyer elected to the Woodland City Council four years ago. He has taken the lead in supporting a controversial urban limit line around his hometown. Known as Measure A, Rexroad says the proposed line voters will consider on Woodland’s June ballot is intended to reduce sprawl, preserve prime agriculture land, and steer growth into the central city.
Characteristically, Rexroad’s major opponent in the race, incumbent Supervisor Frank Sieferman Jr., has taken no position on Measure A. In his four years on the board, Sieferman has been singularly ineffective.
The other candidate in the race, Brenda Cedarblade, is well versed on the issues but has earned recognition in the district mainly for what she opposes, not what she supports and is willing to work for.
