Yes, that’s right the Governor has appointed another Republican to the Los Angeles Superior Court. He also appointed a deputy DA who is decline to state. See the press relese here. Some newer readers may wonder why this is such a news item. These appointments make the unofficial score for judges 17 Dems, 9 Republicans and two decline to state types. See my previous post here. I suppose this is considered progress, but why do Republicans have to beg a Republican Governor to appoint Republicans?

Was Robert Kennedy Jr. or Bobby Shriver not available? I’m shocked. I guess Arnold is switching to a game of small ball. To heck with big ideas like reforming the state.

One out of two is a Republican. Batting .500 in baseball is extraordinary. But if Arnold is the “manager” of the GOP team, you would think he would field exclusively players from our team.
I support this Governor, but Judicial appointments is an area where steam starts to come out of my ears. I’ve been told that since his election, less than half of his appointments to the bench have been registered Republicans. I wonder if that is true?
